International Property for Sale in Barbados
Barbados sits almost a hundred miles east of its closest neighbour, so when the Spaniards, Danes, French and others were busy fighting over the rest of the Caribbean, Barbados sat back with its Pimm's on ice, remaining solidly British. Nowadays it has been a popular tourist and residential destination with luxury hotels and developments such as Merricks Resort and Spa, vying for investor interest. |

About Barbados |
Barbados is the 'Little England' of the Caribbean, but not so much so that the locals have given up rotis for kidney pies, or rum for bitter ale. Bajans, as the islanders call themselves, are as West Indian as any of their Caribbean neighbours, and have tended to selectively borrow rather than assume English customs. Of all the Caribbean islands, Barbados is perhaps the best known for its exclusive hotels and chic restaurants. Yet the original charm and friendliness of the Bajan people is still very much the way of life.

Areas of Barbados |
The dramatic differences between the east and west coast must not be missed. The east (Atlantic side) is less developed and ruggedly beautiful. The Caribbean west coast has more hotel development, but the coastline remains elegant and attractive. The sea is calm and clear and watersports come into their own. The warm Caribbean waters teem with colourful fish swimming in vibrant coral reefs. Visit underwater caves, lush tropical gardens, sugar-cane factories, rum distilleries or plantation houses.
